I was really looking forward to this morning, since the press got invited to a private view of the soon opening CHANEL "The little black jacket" exhibition in Berlin. After receiving the book last week already, I mostly knew what great work I could expect from this. Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld created a whole series on the classic Chanel black jacket. All kinds of celebrities such as Sarah jessica Parker, Elizabeth Olsen or Claudia Schiffer combined and styled the jacket in their very own way. You will be surprised how differently one piece can be worn.
I must say though, that the exhibition is much greater than only the book. Not only because of the amazing venue they chose - an underground tunnel at Potsdamer Platz, which somehow reminds me of a James Bond movie - but also, because of the way Karl Lagerfeld plays with the images in the exhibition. Different to the book he also experimented with colors, filters and also printed some of the shots on glass installations. Great to watch is the Yoko Ono video during the shooting. She knows how to move in her own way ;-) So if you happen to be in Berlin, definitely stop by. It is one of the most aesthetic and still so simple and classic exhibitions, I have seen so far.
